This Sunday, April 29, Jared Swopshire will be speaking during our evening service. The service will begin at 6 PM. Jared, who will play basketball at Northwestern University this coming season, played basketball for the University of Louisville for the past four seasons.  He has been attending First Baptist Church Fairdale for several months, and he recently indicated that he wanted to pursue membership here. Please make plans to be there this Sunday night to hear Jared speak. He loves Jesus and he has a great story to tell of how God changed his life. Please come out and encourage and be encouraged by this young man.

Be sure to come out to First Baptist Church Fairdale tomorrow night for our football fellowship. It will start at 6:00, the same time as our usual service, and we will have a special speaker at half time. Please bring a drink and something everyone can snack on as we fellowship together while watching game on our big screen and projector.

During worship this morning, Mr. Harold shared a poem he wrote when he was 90 years old. Below is the the text of the poem, which was a blessing to the entire church.

Though I’m over the hill,
I’m on my way up
The Lord paid the price
when He drank the cup.
Youthful days, they are past.
My eyes have grown dim,
But Christ points the way,
and I’m trusting in Him.
Now each step I take
as time seems to fly,
I’m nearer, yes nearer,
to my home up On High;
And then some sweet day
when I reach my new home
I’ll join with God’s children
as we sing ’round His throne.

On April 21 at 6:30 PM, we will meet together for a Maundy Thursday worship service to remember our Savior’s suffering for our sins.

On Saturday, April 23, we will have an Easter Egg hunt at 10:00 AM with lunch afterward.

On Easter morning, Sunday, April 24, we will have a sunrise service at 7:00 AM with breakfast afterward. There will be no Sunday School on Easter Sunday. At 10:45, we will have our normal morning worship service. We will have no evening service.

Please plan to be a part of these events with your family.
