Church Newsletter – October 2011

October 11, 2011 No Comments

Dear Church,

It is GO-TIME for us as a church. The future seems to be so very bright and the opportunities for us to make a lasting impact for Christ are all around us. That encourages me and humbles me as our pastor. I want God to  to use us now to exalt Christ.

Just last night, 9 of us traveled to E-Town for a KBC Deacon Training seminar. It was fantastic! If that is a sign of things to come for FBCF, then things are looking good. Nine different men of various ages and coming from various angles all passionately committed to the Lord Jesus and His church. Please note the opportunities for you to be here and involved in the coming months.

  • October – Homecoming is October 16th. We are really looking forward to this Sunday of worship. Our church began in 1916. So this year’s Homecoming we will be celebrating 95 years as a church. Doug Miller will be our guest preacher for the service. Doug and his wife Connie served in our church from 1991-2001. Homecoming is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring someone with you to church.
  • November – Thanksgiving Community Service is Tuesday, November 22. This is a special service in which all the churches of Fairdale come together to worship God with Thanksgiving for all He has done for us. The holidays are a special time to focus on your faith and engage others with the love and life of Jesus.
  • December – December is full of events and activities. You will certainly be hearing about all the meaningful services that will be available. This year,  we will again be doing a Christmas service. Like last year,  it will be a Candlelight service, but this year we also plan to have a Christmas Choir Cantata. Sunday evening, December 18th, will be our Christmas Candlelight service, and it will surely be something you and your friends and family do not want to miss.

As the pastor of our church, I  want to challenge you to be very involved. Please do your part. We all are the body of Christ. We all are the First Baptist Church of Fairdale. And we all have God-given gifts to contribute to what He is doing around here.

I recently mailed out a letter to all of you. My aim in that letter was to pass on my burden and passion and energy that God is putting in me to make a difference. Is it working? Do you want to join in and make a difference for Jesus? I believe our church, FBCF, is in store for great things. To God be the Glory!

Sincerely Your Pastor,

Josh
