Church Newsletter – September 2011
September 28, 2011 No CommentsDear Church,
Just like that the weather has changed in such a drastic way! It is incredible. Saturday, September 3rd set a record for the hottest Sept. 3 ever. And then Monday, Labor Day set a record for the coldest Labor Day ever.
That is wild, but I like it.
Fall is approaching. Summer is leaving. Change is coming. And these changes bring about many exciting opportunities in the life of our church. I want to ask you to be ready. Be eager to be involved, serving and blessing everyone. Here are several upcoming events that you can focus on being like Jesus to others.
- September – Fairdale Fair is September 16-17. Will you consider riding on the church float in the parade? Will you serve in the Church’s Fair Booth as a smiling face and witness to others for Jesus? Will you be there lovingly inviting people to join us at church?
- October – Homecoming is October 16th. We are really looking forward to this Sunday of worship. Our church began in 1916. So this year’s Homecoming we will be celebrating 95 years as a church. Doug Miller will be our guest preacher for the service. Doug and his wife Connie served in our church from 1991-2001. Homecoming is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring someone with you to church.
- November – Thanksgiving Community Service is November 22. This is a special service in which all the churches of Fairdale come together to worship God with Thanksgiving for all He has done for us. The holidays are a special time to focus on your faith and engage others with the love and life of Jesus.
- December – December is full of events and activities. You will certainly be hearing about all the meaningful services that will be available. This year we will again be doing a Christmas service. Like last year it will be a Candlelight service, but this year also we plan to have a Christmas Choir Cantata. A date has not yet been set for this service, but It will surely be something you and your friends and family do not won’t to miss.
As the pastor of our church, I am so humbled that God has brought us to this point. There are good, positive, fruitful things going on all around the life of our church. I pray to God and I encourage you to do your part. Be active. Be faithful. Be ready to be used by God. This fall and holiday season provides the opportunity to see our church get a lot stronger. There are lives all around us ready for Jesus to impact them and change them. May we, FBC Fairdale, be the very instruments God uses to bless someone.
Sincerely Your Pastor,
Josh
